National MS Society:
I was diagnosed with MS in January 2010, this was a confusing time in my life. The day that my onset occurred started as any other day. My girlfriend and I took two of her daughters to school, while she, her youngest daughter and I went house hunting. Looking over several places it was time to take her daughter to preschool so we stopped by Gus's Pretzels to grab a quick lunch. This morning though when I got out of the car, the earth seemed to sway under my feet. My girlfriend noticed something was not right by the look on my face and asked, "what is wrong?" I said nothing really it was just like the earth swayed under my feet and gaining my balance, we walked into Gus's Pretzels and ordered our lunch.
Eating in the car we took her daughter to school and dropped by the house, where we let the dogs out and used the restroom ourselves. By this time I was beginning to feel queasy, thinking my girlfriend and her children had suffered from the stomach flu the last week or so, I was thinking maybe it was my turn as I began to not feel so well.
Upon dropping her off at work, I told her what I suspected and said since I had an hour before I needed to be at my work that I was going to take a nap in the car here in the parking lot of her work. She called me about 10 minutes later to see if I was still in the parking lot. Since I was she said she had forgotten something and was on the way down to get it. When she got there, what she needed was on the drivers side of the car and I got out so she could get it. This is when I started vomiting, since I am a cook, I called in to work and told her that I would be back to get her. I then drove home, I vomited 5 times in the 20 miles I had to drive back home.
